What is an industry without a healthy competition? What is fun without rivalry?  In the game of football, they have Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo, in the game of basketball, they have Steph Curry and Lebron  but in the Nigerian music industry we have DAVIDO and WIZKID.

These two have been compared to each other at every stage of their careers with the same question

” Who is the better artiste ?”

Since his collaboration with MI on “Fast Money , Fast Cars”, Ayodeji “Wizkid” Balogun has been soaring to greater heights like he was ordained by God to do music for Nigerians. Wizkid keeps dishing out good vibes like its nothing.

His good voice, stage presence and undeniable good looks always makes him stand out anywhere. After having an  eventful last year which catapulted him to the helm of the industry, getting him recognition both locally and internationally. He is always consistent in every single, collaboration , performance and even advertisement or whatever he sets out to do.

Amidst all the drama with his proud behaviour , Wizkid keeps dishing out good vibes like its nothing.  Jay Z once said “Everybody look at you strange, say you changed , Like you work that hard to stay the same “.     That’s the problem that we have with the talented WIZ,  Coming from humble beginnings and amassing such success at a young age , its only logical it gets to your head but is that enough to make him better than Davido ?

Born in Atlanta Georgia USA, this Omo Baba Olowo has shown that his family affluence isn’t the reason why he is top-notched but he has TALENT written all over him. Since dropping “Back When” with Naeto C five years ago ,Davido has proven to Nigerians times without number that he is better All of them.

His very distinctive voice , charismatic stage performance , flamboyant videos , precise dress sense ,top notch recording always makes you wonder how great you can be when you put your wealth aside and hustle like you have nothing.

He has been releasing chat topping tunes since day one with classy videos to make him a mighty force to reckon with home and internationally.  Davido is one of the few artistes that puts his every energy when it comes to what he loves “MUSIC” and that is why he will keep getting bigger till he takes everyone’s position. Davido makes feel good music and has a humble personality despite his magnanimous celebrity status , that’s probably the only difference between them .

It is very obvious DAVIDO and WIZ are great musicians at all levels with both amassing enough accolades to donate to every ARSENAL player and staff of the club . To me , the rivalry between the both can be broken into this simple term “Hustle till your role model becomes your rival”.

We all know who the role model and rival is in this context.  I may pick WIZ over DAVIDO but I used to worry about who is better between them then I realized I have only 10k in my bank account and I am Older than Davido.
