The Kids’ Choice Awards are produced by Nickelodeon Productions. Sponsors include Amazon Fire Tablet, Fruit by the Foot, Yoplait GoGurt, Lucky Charms, Hot Wheels, McDonald’s USA, Skechers, and Toyota.
Nickelodeon (DStv channel 305) has revealed the nominations for the 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards, the ultimate fan celebration of the best of everything kids love in pop culture. The nominees reflect the entertainment that audiences see, play, listen to and read in droves, from movies like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World and Pitch Perfect 2, to a host of television shows, music, gaming, books and more.

key music categories, Fall Out Boy, Fifth Harmony, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, One Direction and Pentatonix go head to head for Favorite Music Group. Favorite Male Singer noms include Shelton, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas and The Weeknd, while the Favorite Female Singer trophy will go to one of the following: Adele, Ariana Grande, Meghan Trainor, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez or Taylor Swift.

In the new category of Favorite Collaboration, nominations went to “Bad Blood,” Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar; “Downtown,”  Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Eric Nally, Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee and Grandmaster Caz; “Good For You,” Selena Gomez featuring A$AP Rocky; “Like I’m Gonna Lose You,” Meghan Trainor featuring John Legend; “See You Again,” Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth; and “Where Are Ü Now,”  Skrillex, Justin Bieber & Diplo.

With the introduction of a new African voting category for best African bloggers, Bellanaija founder, Uche Pedro has been nominated alongside Sylvia Kamau (Kenya), Aisha Baker (South Africa), and Theodora Lee (South Africa).

In the movie categories, Jennifer Lawrence will face off against Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Scarlett Johansson for “Favourite Movie Actress”, while Jurassic World, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 and Star Wars: The Force Awakens compete for the title of “Favourite Movie”.

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards premieres across Africa on Nickelodeon (DStv channel 305) and Nicktoons (DStv channel 308) at 5:30PM on Wednesday 16 March 2016.  The presenting sponsor for the 2016 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards is the brand new comedy blockbuster “KUNG FU PANDA 3”.
